i have 10 Gb hdd installed in my Linux PC.

Dear All,

I have installed 10GB HDD in my Linux PC. and in the period of installation i have selected servertype installation , which make default partion and i am unknown about my HDD capacity , whether full HDD capacity is used or not.
If not then how can now create partion to make usable under linux.

df -h will do what you need, the -h tells it to display the sizes in human readable form, ie gig's and meg's instead of bytes

If you want to use the ENTIRE Hardrive then I suggest that with linux fdisk you create at least a swap of 100Mb and then another partition for root. That's how I do it except that I dual-boot with Winbloze 98. If it's the only hardrive I think you type >

as root of course >
fdisk /dev/hda

then make your partitions and format them
type 'm' for menu of keys while in fdisk
