I hate nautilus

RH 7.2 gnome, enlightenment
what are my alterantives? If uninstall it, is there another file manager I can use, or one ill need to download?
I saw a post on here that i could download it, even ignoring dependencies, it would not hurt anything...
wanted more feedback on that.

There are an arse-load of other window managers and file managers in Linux. As for Different environments/window managers you can go for: BlackBox, Fluxbox, WindowMaker, KDE, XFCE, IceWM, FVWM & FVWM2, TWM, MWM, Orobora (Sp?), aewm++ and loads more...As for file managers aside of Nautilus you can use: Konqueror (KDE), TkDesk, Xfm, MidnightCommander and loads more of those...With Red Hat, just go to www.rpm-find.net and start searching for packages...

well for a start rpm-find.net doesn't exist. try rpmfind.net instead

but even though i prefer blackbox over gnome, you can easily remove nautilus itself easily enough, and just use teh standard gmc instead of it. When i use gnome i kill nautilus immeditaley, and also use the sawfish wm instead of E. much nicer i think

just think that E looks horrible, and doesn't fit nicely inside gnome, whilst sawfish w/ microgui theme fits perfectly. it's much more configurable too.

E looks much better by itself without gnome, at least I preffer it over KDE, GNOME desktops, I have a powerfull machine so I don't need to limit myself to blackbox or WM, and my favorite of all the times is AfterStep, again pure one without Gnome crap such as the panel.
