The basics of a complete Newbie. Man I hate being a newb especially when I know a decent amount of knowledge about computers already.

I have a few questions for all of you out there.

1.)
Unknown Monitor - Linux Red Hat 8.0 seems to not have drivers for Viewsonic E90fb. Where could I get them, looked at Red Hat site already.

2.)
Unsure - Vision Tek NVIDIA GeForce Ti 4600, not sure if it might be causing the low res or not. I truly think the low res is from the monitor, but just incase.

3.)
Detected, but won't activate - SOYO Fire Dragon PI4Y mother board LAN. It's an Intel Pro/100 VE. Not sure what to do here.

4.)
Detected, but no sound - SoundBlaster Audigy Platinum, or SOYO Fire Dragon PI4Y mother board 6CH sound.

That's all I have for now. I have only been on Red Hat for 5 hours and I'm already playing the cool games. :p

Well I don't want to write a novel on steps to fully configure your system for you, have you tried looking at any sites out there that have wonderful documentation with step by step instructions ? One place in mind is always here, you can use the search function as we have many many threads and posts on many different problems people have asked about, which I could tell you covers your questions. Another great site is www.tldp.org which is the Linux Documentation Project. Great resource. From searching, you should get an idea on what to try to get your system configured, then if you come up with any problems that you may encounter along the way, feel free to ask with details on what your doing and what you've tried.

I don't want this to sound rude in anyway, and I hate telling people to go read the manuals, but in some cases you just have to. If you've been around on a site like this helping others out, you hate to repeat yourself over and over when the information is already there.
