I got a root account only but no user account

basically I got a root account and i cannot login using the Kubuntu GUI and it says root login not allowed.

I got 2 questions.

1) How do I create a user account from the command prompt?

2) Is there a way to bypass the GUI login?

For those who dont know, I am using backtrack (type of kubuntu)

Since Backtrack is specialized distro (and not a type of Kubuntu) for network and security experts it has no non-root user by default, for the simple reason that the tools you are intended to use mostly need root privileges anyways.

If you are new to Linux then Backtrack most likely isn't the best choice for you. It would be better to go for a more beginner-friendly distro, like Mint, MEPIS or Ubuntu.
