I feel like an idiot... where did my aptitude install go?
Hi, all --
I just used aptitude to install flightgear, a piece open-source flight sim software. It completed successfully... but where did it install to? I'm using GNOME; how could I get a link to the file in my "Applications" directory? This seems like a dumb question, but I couldn't find the answer in man aptitude. Thanks for any help! John |
try pressing alt-f2 and type flightgear to launch it
you can use the menu editor to add it to the menu |
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately, the launcher didn't seem to recognize the application name flightgear, and "flightgear" didn't show up on the list of recognized applications. Should I try running the install again? Just out of curiosity, where is all the data for this program likely stored?

try opening a terminal and type flig and press tab, see if it autocompletes for yo

It didn't... aptitude has listed flightgear in my installed packages, though. =\
