I dont get it?
 
ok when my computer is on for longer then a day, around the 24 hour mark it just loses it connection for a few minuets then it comes back. I have sbc dsl but also my computer isnt the "main" one i dunno if that makes a difference or anything but yeah i was wondering if theres anythinbg i can do to stop it.

Just guessing......Is it a DHCP connection? In DHCP, the IP is "leased" for a set period and then renewed.

Here, the lease time is settable in my router. The external connection is also DHCP, but I do not know how to check those settings (I suspect the ISP would not want me to....;) )

At the client end, I wonder if there is some record of how long it has had the DHCP lease.

Search Google using "DHCP"---learning more about this than I know should take maybe 5 minutes--tops

In Germany the 24-hour-cut is usual to distinguish dial-in connections from non-stop connections (which are charged with higher rates). If it's always after 24 hours I guess you have a similar contract?
