I don't like the label that is appearing in LILO when I start the system. It is crude as "linux", "linux-fb", "windows", "floppy" etc.
I want to change this to something like:
Mandrake Linux 9.2 RC2
Windows XP Home
Floppy Linux boot
etc.
How can I do this? When I enter like this lilo.conf the system complains I cannot have a space, which means I can enter
MandrakeLinux92RC - I don't like this either.
Open the file /etc/lilo.conf in a text editor and find the lines that say "Label = " and change the label to your likings. After that run /sbin/lilo. Now when you reboot you'll have your shiny new labels. Editing and command execution as root, of course.
