I don't know how to update Adobe Flash plugin, Firefox, Kubuntu

I am lost by the other threads on this topic. I seem to be missing a step in between the instructions that I find. Sorry to start another on this.

Gateway laptop, AMD Phenom II 64-bit, 8GB ram.
Fresh install of Kubuntu 10.04 64-bit.

While surfing on youtube, FF gives me heck about updating my Adobe Flash plugin. I tried Adobe's instructions to install, and also looked at a few other threads about this.

Cans someone point the way?
Thank you!

I restarted FF, that didn't work.
Then I restarted the machine, that worked.
Thanks everyone!
