if you are in a terminal control c and control v to copy paste -- well you need to add a button to that.

control shift c to copy in a term and control shift v to paste in a term ...

so it'd be
control shift c to copy in term, control v to paste in anywhere else but a term.

control c in term is cancel (stop) whatever is running in it.

note: not all terminals allow this. ie xterm

Norm Carreck,

Netbooks were all the rage some while ago (I am not talking about current Chromebooks) and as a result there are plenty of cheap ones on the used market, many with little use because W7 Starter was pretty useless on them.

Look out for a 10.1 inch Samsung netbook with 2GB of memory similar to this and then install antiX or similar lightweight distro:

antiX:

I have a hardly used Samsung N220 with 2GB of RAM and antiX-16.1 and I am very pleased with it.

Thanks everyone - I am going to buy a new battery and pursue this later. Lots of good information so when I get the new battery, I will be looking for help again. I have to go on course April 7th to 9th and need to have it running properly.
