i dont get the login prompt for redhat linux 9 in the graphic interface...i know it has got something to do with my video driver intel910 chipset..i dont know what to do
Do you get any errors during the boot process?
You should also display the contents of xorg.conf (usually in /etc/x11/xorg.conf)
And, if you get to the login prompt, what happens when you type "startx" after logging in?
when i typed startx i got an error msg saying no screen detected..then following the options that came i selected generic driver for my monitor and was able to login in the graphic interface
another problem is that there is no computer icon on the desktop..instead there is a "start here" icon so i cant access my usb flash drive..could u plz help me out..how do i mount it
