i cant get into graphic interface at startup
i dont get the login prompt for redhat linux 9 in the graphic interface...i know it has got something to do with my video driver intel910 chipset..i dont know what to do :(

Does it give any specific error? If so, could you post it here?

also, have you tried starting up the display manager? type gdm or kdm and a login should at least try to open.

Do you get any errors during the boot process?
You should also display the contents of xorg.conf (usually in /etc/x11/xorg.conf)
And, if you get to the login prompt, what happens when you type "startx" after logging in?

thanx for the help
when i typed startx i got an error msg saying no screen detected..then following the options that came i selected generic driver for my monitor and was able to login in the graphic interface
another problem is that there is no computer icon on the desktop..instead there is a "start here" icon so i cant access my usb flash drive..could u plz help me do i mount it
