is there a pressing NEED for installing a unsupported database
9 became unsupported back in 2010
and was released in 2001
the current Oracle DB in 12

and it is unlikely that the antique 9i will install with the current jvm 1.7

look for the also rather very old java 1.3
from the now no longer around SUN microsystems

see the oracle FAQ

install the current Oracle DB 12
and buy the support contract

if you must use 9

step one
install a operating system from 2001/2003
( ps it too will be unsupported )

and to run Oracle's DB it is BEST to run it ON "Oracle Linux "
Oracle's own rebuild of RHEL , but "tweaked" to run Oracle's DB VERY VERY well .

---- NOT ADVISABLE !!!!! -- as in I would NOT do this ---
so install an old and unsupported version of OEL ( like OEL4 or 5 )
then install 9i on that .

but your BEST bet is to contact Oracle sales
talk to a sales rep and work with them for finding a solution

Can consider going to Oracle to get a virtual appliance that has a db installed along with Oracle Linux.

A db admin doesn't really need to know how to install a db.
