I use Real Player on my RHEL 5 and it works fine. Get the .bin installer from the vendor's website and install it. |

Is it possible to download any RPM's if your RHEL instance is not registered? If not, I don't see an easy way to fix it.

and it show me installation successful .n every time in try to install an rpm with "rpm -ivh xxx.rpm comand it shows me some failed dependencies . it showed me the failed dependedcies for vlc also . so i downloaded the needed dependencies n tried to install those first but even those show me failed dependencis . ! |
There are more than one version of RealPlayer11GOLD.rpm
The version, that works on RHEL5 : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...tion-827415/#4 > > Post # 4. |
You wanna same thing as RHEL, there's no use having a non-registered RHEL as a desktop, it was never meant to be used as a desktop OS.
Better go for Fedora (latest version 14), it's a test bed for RHEL, same thing, with much more hardware and multimedia support. Plus I think Fedora/CentOS/Scientific Linux AND a good book is the best way to learn RH based linux on your own, at least I did that. |

http://www.redhat.com/advice/tips/realplayer10.html They have also shown how to install the player. Go here: https://player.helixcommunity.org/2004/downloads/ and download the "Installer" version (.bin). I used it and it worked. |
