I can ping the IP address but i can not connect/browse the internet

Hi ,

I was able to configure my network connection using wvdial.
Now i cannot browse the internet at all but i can ping the ISP.
I had tried to use Firefox , Konqueror & Epiphany browser but it failed although i did many configuration in the browser/proxy but no avail & whenever try to use any website address to test the browser( www.google.com )
it displayed ( Name is incorrect/wrong/invalid ).

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?

Thanks

check
cat /etc/resolv.conf
you should see something like

"nameserver 10.1.1.28"

If not you need to add one or use dhcp

You must have a dns server.

Sounds like a DNS problem. For the record try pinging 72.14.207.99, that is Google.

/etc/resolv.conf is where your nameservers should be but pppd will create a resolv.conf in /etc/ppp and wvdial may do the same so look around for a resolv.conf and then a simple symlink in /etc should fix it.
Code:
find / -name resolv.conf
