I can not run update on Ubuntu 12.04, I keep getting error message

I do not have a problem with my internet connection but keep getting this message. I am running Ubuntu 12.04LTS.

I clicked on a couple of the links and they are not found - however the parent directory to them does exist.

Did you remember to run 'sudo apt-get update' before your upgrade/dist-upgrade?

For future reference, it is helpful to include the actual commands you typed in the copy/paste, not just the output of those commands.
