I am using Lubuntu 14.04. I can't find or use F spot, nor can I find a way to upload pictures from my camera. I was using 13:10 but tried to upgrade to the newer version. But it didn't work. as it should have. I am totally lost with the terminology I keep receiving. I can't make the comand line work either.

I'm thinking Ubuntu replaced f-spot with shotwell quite some years ago. Seems Lubunutu don't include it in their base build if this (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Applications) is to be believed.
I imagine you can install it yourself, then import your f-spot photos and any tags. It should also recognise your camera.
