i can't stop the music (Noatun)

Help,

I just figured out how to play mp3's. After weeks of not listening to music since I moved over to linux I was pretty happy when I found Noatun and created a play list. I poked around the settings for Noatun and turned on a setting that said something like: "Allow only one instance of Noatun to run." It seemed like a good thing to set at the time.

Now whenver I login to kde Noatun starts up and plays the playlist but there is no Noatun window. not even a button for it on the systray. so basically i can't access Noatun.

I did a top and found three artsd running, when i kill them more startup playing differnet songs.

I looked around for a Noatun config file thinking that I might be able to reset that "one instance only" setting but can't find anything.

LOL

Have you tried XMMS? IMO it is much better then noatun, and it uses a sensible sound protocol rather than going through artsd. It should almost definitely be available on your installation CDs, however, if you have RH 8.0, then you will need to download the MP3 drivers specifically.

I'd love to try it but I can't stop noatun and I don't know of any way to stop it.

try:
killall noatun

Also, you might try unchecking the "save this session" button if it is checked.

Cool

And check that it's not hiding in you startup (under the KDE menu, that is).
