I can't open folders in KDE

hello people.

I'm not really sure why this started, i had no problems opening folders when debian was installed. Now when i try to open a folder i see konquere starting up, and closes after a few seconds. so i am unable to browse through my folders. Any ideas why, and how to fix it?
There is no problem starting konquere and browsing the Internet. It's only when i try to open folders.

Just a thought (not an expert, btw)

Have you checked your mount points? can you access the folders from a console?

yea sure that is no problem.

i tried running konqueror from console to see what error msg i got when it exited.

It dosen't give any error message. And when i stype ps aux to see what is running i see that konqueror is running, and have opened the requested folder. i just cant see it anywhere on my screen.. pretty strange
