I am trying to Wow and have MAJOR LAG!!! Please help!!
I am running Ubuntu on a dell studio. I'm not sure what kind of graphics card i have but i do know its integrated. I had Vista before and Wow ran great with no problem. I have read a few different threads about graphics card and what not but I'm still pretty new to Ubuntu. I have Wine installed and it will run WoW but my toon isn't all there. The terminal commands are kinda confusing for me but i tried to do what they wanted me to do or look at certain things. Please if anyone can help me understand what the heck I am supposed to do let me know. Thank you so much for any one that can help me. If anyone could also show me how to find out what i have installed as a graphics card would be awesome.

The graphics card information usually can be displayed by opening a terminal, and as root running the command
'lspci' . In Ubuntu, you get root privileges by typing 'sudo lspci' ( for the lspci command ); press enter, it will prompt you for the root password. Enter the password, press enter, the command should run. Here is what the output will look like. Quote:

Post the output. As for getting WoW to run, do a google search, there are lots of how-to docs to be found. Since that is a windbloze program, you might want to consider installing Virtual Box and install a guest windoze system with the game. I suspect it would be a lot less work than Wine, probably faster and more stable. |
I always had great success with running wow using cedega. You have to have a paid membership to download cedega, but you can buy a 1 month membership for $5 and be good for the rest of your life. You do not have to have an active membership to download it or to use it, you just had to of had a membership a some point in time.
