i am trying to install a different linux to linpus lite on aspire one .

I am having difficulty installing other linux operating system on aspire one operating susi etc.I have an external rom and everything seems to go fine and then fails sometimes it says check sum. Do i need a different version for the aspire one. The linpus is fine but i want more control. I can install xp no problems but i think it is time for a change andtry to under linux

The checksum problem can be related to your CD/DVD copy not matching the checksum of the original downloaded ISO image. Which distribution are you trying to install and where did you download the image from? There is a distribution specifically made for Acer Aspire One. You can give it a try: http://www.linux4one.it (scroll down the page for the english translation).

I have downloaded this version before and yes I think you are right the problem with the check sum. I will try your link and see how it goes

Hi,

Whenever you download something you should perform a 'md5sum' check for the download to confirm everything is valid.
