I am new to Linux and having problems setting up dual monitors from adapter that comes with a CD. Can I do that on Linux and if not how can I set up f=dual monitors. Thank you

chances are the cd is windows only so no, you will need to look at setting up x11, plenty of threads on that on these forums and on google you will probably also need to look at xrandr to set the monitors up, personaly i have let x11 configure itself for a number of years and just used xrandr to set the positions etc of my monitors.
No one here will be able to give you specific info until yoi provide more info, what distro are you using, what desktop, what monitors etc etc

I just connect the monitors and use gnome-control-center to set up dual display the way I want it.
