Hi. I am brand new here. I don't want to post the same question twice, as I believe that is against the rules? I think I posted a question about my second monitor in hardware. It said something about it wont appear until it's approved. I wonder if I did it right because when I click "my posts" or "my threads" under "my LQ" the page is empty. So does it have to be approved before I see it there or am I not seeing it because I didn't post it properly?
You probably didn't do anything wrong. Most, if not all, initial threads by new members have to be approved by a moderator first. Depending on their schedule, that can take a little while. Most likely you'll see it within a day or two.
Thanks. Well I see this post is showing up in myLQ. so I will ask the question again. I have an i5 PC with 12 GB ram. It has an onboard hdmi and I added a card that has an hdmi. It has a monitor plugged into each hdmi. That is two monitors. If I install window it shows both. if i install ubuntu it shows both. currently I have debian installed. it only shows one. I am brand new at linux. I did figure out to type lspci into a terminal from reading the beginner post. when I type lspci and hit enter I get the following...
pawn57@debian:~$ /sbin/lspci
bash: /sbin/lspci: No such file or directory
pawn57@debian:~$ lspci

could anyone help me to get the second monitor to work? Thanks.

If (or when) you consider this resolved, please mark this thread as "SOLVED" by clicking on "Thread Tools" directly above your initial post. Thanks!

Ok. Thanks. I see these posts now and apparently can respond, yet I still don't see my other question about my second display. Should I mark this solved and and wait for the other to show up or try asking it here?
