Hi LeeHnetinka,

Welcome to LQ!

Tell us what you're starting with, i.e. a computer with Windows 10 installed. Basically, you can either install the operating systems side by side, or do what I do and install virtualbox and install Windows in a virtual machine. If you have Windows installed on the hardware, then you install Linux as a virtual machine.

(and i'm not being rude or anything; not everybody knows how to use a search engine)
generally speaking, LeeHnetinka, the advice is to search before you post!

LeeHnetinka,

I second AwesomeMachine’s advice to download and install VirtualBox in your Windows 10 and then install a Linux distribution inside VirtualBox.

VirtualBox:

Tutorial:

Dual booting can get messy and that’s why I suggest the alternative VirtualBox route.
