I am learning Linux because I would like to volunteer for censorship monitoring and running relays
This is all new to me. I actually dated a guy who was into the 'darknet thing' and was put in a bad situation because of it. A few months ago I read an article and realised there was a very good side. And now its all I think about. I take courses online and watch you tube. And I just installed Mint along with windows 10. I am having issues with virtual box on both OS and I think it's lack of vocab understanding. Need some tips.

It is more correct that there is a good side to the web more prevalent than what your exposure to it has been in the past. Here in LQ we have some guideline as to how to use the LQ forums as well as help with asking effective questions. And as you can imagine, we also do have some site rules structured to clarify what is acceptable versus not on the LQ site. For cases where the person is someone like your former dating partner. For now, perhaps you can reply to offer some substance to your questions about Virtual Box. |

While we await your response, Afalon, I would just like to clarify that VirtualBox itself is NOT an OS. It is only a program that allows the use of other OS's within your currently running (host) OS

VirtualBox has extensive documentation and that would be the best place to start. Their site is at the link below so start reading that and come back with specific questions if you have problems.

The basic use of virtualbox remains quite similar between the two OS's.
I'd try to get Windows 10 to work and it should be as simple as installing. From there you can or should have the ability to either import a working appliance or to create a new machine. What do you want to start with? |
If you have "issues" and you need help, you probably need to tell us what those "issues" are.
