I am having trouble installing Samba


I am using ubuntu gutsy and I don't understand how to start from... i guess inetd.conf or smbd... I am confused by the directions.

Thanks for the help

Try
Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/samba start
On some distros the service is called smb and not samba, so the command would be "/etc/init.d/smb start".

I'm sorry I am a newbie. After I did make, then make install I didn't go sudo apt-get install samba. which fixed everything sorry again
