I am having a problem opening emails in hotmail account, running back track 4

First thing I will say is I am new this site and computers in general. I have pc and am running back track 4. Today the computer shut off, maybe an over heat. I restarted it and it turned off again even before the reboot finished. I put an additional cooling fan in front of the air intake and the computer is staying on but now will not open the emails in the my hot mail account. It seems to open the account, I can see what is in my in box just can not open them. Moving the curser over the unopened email usually made what is in task bar at the bottom of the page change. As of now it continues to say "Done" in stead of showing a task. Moving the curser over other things on the same page will make the task bar say "javascript" only. If you have any addvise for me please keep in mind that i am new to computers. Thanks Damian

Just putting an extra fan in front of an computer is in no way the right way to troubleshoot your overheating issue. Solve that first or you may really damage your machine. I would strongly recommend to open the case (pull the powerplug before) and clean out all fans and coolers (don't forget the videocard). After that have a look at the temperatures to be sure that your issue is solved. Only then you should even think of solving your software problem.
