Do you have a Windows Recovery Disk or you just wanna install Vista?

Please give more info-

if you're just going to reinstall over the top of Kubuntu, all you have to do is drop the Vista CD in and have it format the drive for you.

Tried recovery cds and they don't work. Tech support says I need to Fdisk to get hard drive back to a windows format. But they won't help me with that because I need to do it thru Ubuntu.

All I have is 1 system disk and 2 recovery disks.

From the ubuntu live CD, you can use GParted to format the drive as NTFS.

ok here is the short version. Had Vista 64bit. Tried to intall Kubuntu parallel with windows. I screwed up and installed over windows. Recovery disks do't work. Tech support says Linux partitioned the drive so windows can't read it and I need to Fdisk thru Kubuntu so that the hard drive will get back to a format that windows will read.

Is the Gparted self explanatory. I'm Stupid.

Gparted is very easy to use.

Suggest : Use the 'Gparted' live cd.
