I've searched the threads,
and have not found exactly my situation. I'm definitly a newbie with linux. Here's where I'm at:
I'm trying to tri-boot my laptop using system commander -- 2 instances of xp and one install of RH linux 9.
I got through the linux install OK, but I think I made the wrong choice for boot options. I picked lilo instead of grub (basically because I had heard of it ....), then got an error message from system commander saying something about my choice was imcompatible with the partion it had setup .... blah blah blah ...
eventually I got through the install and managed to get system commander to show me a linux boot option .... but when I choose it I get an error saying no boot files are present.
So -- I *THINK* I need to install grub onto the partition that my linux is installed to. If I can do that, then I *THINK* the install I did should be just fine and I can start making sure the nic driver works,, etc ....!!
Anyone have some advice for me?
Peter
