I'm very sorry I'm so very stupid, but...

HOW TO MAKE NEW FILE IN EMACS, OR DO I NEED TO OPEN READILY MADE PROGRAM???
I'm very sorry.
I have used only Kate for editing (in my 1. month at programming) and g++/gcc for translating so far, time to try something else.

It looks like you can just type what you want, and then save it as a new file.

Why not try vi?

mace 06-25-2002 05:31 PM

or ae

I always suggest anyone using Linux or Unix to learn the basics of vi though, there might be times when its the only editor available to use... ;)
And who cares about looks, it works right.. well IMO at least:

vi = fast, reliable and very flexible....

ae stands for Anthony's Editor. It was written by Anthony Howe.
