I'm VERY green...i am trying to locate an article on cookies ( I'm having a problem with u-tube
 

After some reading I think the problem I'm having with u tube is about cookies (How to turn or off)

Ok again....U tube "up dated" it's site and I don't like it and want the previous version ba ck, but do not know where to find the cookies. Also, where is the tool bar for linux ?

Huh? If the web site's updated you probably won't find the "previous" one, it's somewhere in Googleland. Do you mean that your browser updated? If so, which one are you using?

If you're using Firefox you can access the browser's preferences by clicking on the Menu button (three lines at the top right of the browser window) then select the preferences cog wheel icon. Under Browser Privacy - History you'll find a hot link to allow you to remove_individual_cookies.

Also, what "tool bar" are you talking about? Ah! If I remember correctly Firefox doesn't have the File, Edit, History, etc toolbar by default.

Go back to the Menu button, top right, go to the Customise button at the bottom of the drop down window then check the Toolbar V button in the bottom left of the Window. Make sure that Menu bar and History toolbar are checked.

What distro/version and what desktop environment are you using?

One of the differences between Linux (and BSD) and Mac and Windows is this: The GUI environment is not intertwined with the OS, but rather rides on top of it, as it were. Accordingly, there are many different GUI interfaces for Linux. Heck, Slackware installs several out of the box and prompts you to choose a default (you can switch to another one later). Depending on the interface, the taskbar ("panel" in Linux) can be on the top, bottom, sides (it can be in Windows also). Some GUIs default to the top and some to the bottom. That's why the above question is necessary.

Check out the Youtube 'settings', (I changed mine back a while ago).
