I'm trying to install Fedora on a brand new computer
How do I install fedora on a brand new computer? I was able to install unbuntu because it was the only one that would boot from a live dvd. I like unbuntu, but I would prefer fedora. It's a msi P67A-C43 motherboard with a i7Intell processor. Thank you for all help.
At which step of the install are you getting "kicked out" of the install? Have you been prompted for the media test yet etc.? Is there an error message, a hang, or does it lock up?
What video card is present in the system?
As jonnynitro138 stated, we need more details and we'll be happy to help.
Burn the disk with the best quality cd/dvd and use the very slowest burn speed. Be sure to test the download before or after yo burn it with md5 or shal tests.
First I insert the live dvd of fedora, then I restart the computer. I hit delete to enter the system bios, enter the settings, enter the save and exit, select boot override, choose and enter sata:HL-DT-ST dvdram gh, which starts fedora I get fedora will start in 10 seconds, I wait for it to start. the screen turns black ant ata1.01 failed to boot and ata2.02 failed to boot appears on the upper left side of the screen. then the fedora load screen appears and it shows that it is loading. Which stops just before it finishes and the screen turns black again with the message droping to bug shell. sh:can't access tty: job control turned off dracut:/#
I really appreciate the help.
