I'm thinking of installing ubuntu 0.04 as dual boot on the Hp 1151 NR

I'm thinking of installing ubuntu 9.04 as dual boot on the Hp 1151 NR. has anyone tried doing this on one of these PC's with any luck? I have 2 gig of ram It has the Intel 945 express chipset for video adapter and an Intel Atom 1.6ghz CPU. It is setup with XP now and I'd like to dualboot. Any help will greatly appreciated.

This thing may be a little new for many people to have had a chance to run any kind of Linux on it.
However, the core chipset is well supported. You'll want to double check the periferals - do you have the verizon 3g thing? Some people have found that it takes a little extra fiddling but it is doable.

Your first step is to boot it live - see what runs.

You also want to create an xp rescue cd and a backup of your data.
This is always worth doing, never mind how certain the install is.
If you are very worried - contact your local LUG and find out when their next installfest is.
