I'm such a newb... i need help... PPC install help
 

Hey! I'm a new convert to linux and got Fedora installed on my home built box... but now I want to try and install it with my Apple's PPC. Right now I've got a G4 Apple iBook running Mac os X... and i need step by step help... i thought I had the images I need and all, but I can't figure out how to get it to boot to the linux CDs... so if you can help I would be forever thankful...
also if anyone has any idea if dual boot between mac os x and linux is possible plz let me know

Welcome to LQ!

I think I know what your problem is. If you downloaded your image with your mac, make sure OSX doesn't create a disk volume. If you copy the automatically created volume to CD, it won't boot. Instead you should burn the image (*.iso file) with your CD burning software.

Also, make sure you downloaded the correct images (you need the PPC, not i386 ones).
