Unhappy I'm stuck once again!

While trying to mount my Zip250 parallel drive,I think I put a bad line in fstab.I'm stuck! After that last line,I get the following messages:

bad format on line 16 /etc/fstab

fsck.ext2 oun/dev/hda7 fail status 8

root file system is currently mounted read only ...remount to read-write

bash# mount -n -o remount,rw /

I enter my root password and enter the command above and get this:no final new line at the end of /etc/fstab

What is wrong?

You need to edit the /etc/fstab file and put a new line at the end of the file. Just start up your favorite editor and load the fstab file. Then move your cursor to the end of the last line in the file and hit the <ENTER> key and save your changes and then reboot. That should do it.

When you run the command mount -n -o remount,rw /, replace the ' / ' with the actual root partition.
Example: mount -n -o remount,rw /dev/hda3. Replace the ' hda3 ' with the correct root partition. That way you shouldn't get the error about the fstab file.
