I'm seeing these flashing lines whenever I type something on kubunu
 

Hi, well to start off I'd like to say this does NOT happen to me on windows. So I know it's not my eyes, This only happens when I'm typing it's just random, these little flashing black horrizontal lines, you can see them out o the corner of your eye. I run konqueror web browser on kubuntu, this has been happening since the first day. I don't really have anything against this browser so far but I just don't know if I can take this lol, does this happen to anyone else? Or is it just me? Also do you think the problem can be fixed with a different browser? One more question (sorry) is there any reason konqueror is so far zoomed out when viewing a site? I hate that ,I tried zooming it in with CTRL + Scrolling but it just lags it. Thanks for any help in advance.

I use Konq for several things, but not a lot on the web. That said, I have never seen the effect you describe. I'm running Konq 3.5.9.

What type of monitor do you have? Flat panel, or CRT? Does this happen in any other application?

You can try another browser, I use Firefox for the web, but the are lots of others to choose from. Opera is nice, even has a e-mail client built in.

Zommed out too far? Hmmm. Try resetting things to the 'default' settings under Settings-->Configure Konq and see what happens. Mine comes up at a reasonable level. I'm running compiz on the desktop, and can zoom with the ctrl + mouse wheel, as well as ctrl + the +key. Works quite fast....

If your system is not too fast, you might want to try turning down the visual effects in KDE. They can make a system seem slower that it needs to be.
