I'm not using linux but i need the commands for my exam.
 

I am not using linux so i cant try out some commands to get the answers.
It's school holiday now,i cant go in the lab and use the linux.
Can anyone who using linux tell me the commands to solve this problem?

What are the commands that use to get below output?
1.cdrom floppy pvfs (! File structure that typically contains the mount points for file systems mounted after the system booted)

2.man1 man3 (! File structure that contains many system commands and one of the command is manual pages)
3. myFirstScript: ASCII English text (! To determines file types or type of library)

You may want to check out Puppy Linux or some such run on CD distro.

Even if the LQ rules did not forbid to answer (actually to post...) homework, those questions are hardly the kind to receive a plain and simple answer.

I think those questions were tailored to make you think, wonder, search, and find.

You say you don't have Linux... Then, get it :) If you don't want to install on disk, you can try with Knoppix, or (if Knoppix is too big for you) with Damn Small Linux), both of which are Live CDs (and a version of Damn Small Linux can be made to run *inside* Windows!).
And if neither of those suits you, you can at least use Cygwin in Windows.

This is not homework,assignment or wat else.
I try some exercises but I don have linux to try the questions out.
Where to get the linux?download from internet?
If need to buy a cd to install, i cant.
Coz i am living at a rural place that impossible to get such cd.

You can indeed download Linux. Damn Small Linux is a 50MB download, and can be found here:
http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/
On this site, you'll find CD images to burn (you need a CD burner). If you download the default "current.iso", you'll get a "Live CD", which means that you put the CD in the drive, reboot, wait, and that's all: you're using Linux :)

If 50MB is too much for you (in case you only have 56k modem), you can still download Linux, but the bigger the Linux distribution is, the more comfortable it is... and the smaller the Linux distribution is, the more streamlined it is, up to text-only.
If you do want to try Linux on floppy, just search Google for "Linux on floppy"; the best known is a one-floppy-only distribution known as "tomsrtbt" (Tom's Root Boot disk). For the record, here's a list:

If you have broadband internet access, you should try Knoppix instead, or another one called PClinuxOS.

If i download the linux you said and run it, will it affect my current window?i can use that linux as free as i can without affecting the files and others of my windows?

No - all of the Linux distros people have pointed you to in this thread are LiveCD distros - they run off a CD and don't change anything on your Windows system.

1)Hasnt your lab at school got dial in capabilities?
2)If you put your area of residence on your profile you might find someone that lives near you who also uses Linux Questions, and could sort you out with a copy of a live cd, or even chat in person?

If your PC is able to, with a bit of playing you can also get Damn Small Linux to boot from a USB stick. If you want to run the embedded version from within Windows you'll need at least 256MB of RAM, if not more, to get much response from it. Otherwise you'll probably find it too slow to work with.
