I'm new to linux(Xubuntu 8.04) I have printing Problems

I'm new to Linux and am using Xubuntu 8.04. I've managed to overcome most problems, such Video, music, but I cant get the printer to work. It' a Lexmark X1180 and I can't find any drivers for it on CUPS. Can anyone advise me. I'll warn you that I'm no computer buff! So far Xubuntu has been fine and stable, unlike XP, but I do need the printer to work if I'm going to persist with the Linux concept.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Welcome to LQ!

Lexmark X1180 is not the luckiest choice, something can be done though.

Thanks Emerson, I've downloaded but,,,,,,,,

Thanks Emerson, I've downloaded but as said before I'm new to this. I have the file x125-drv-0.2.3.tar.gz but I can't work out how to install from here. If you can give me basic instructions of what do do from here, i hope I can progress in this world of linux. I'm assuming Terminal comes into the equation!.

Regards

Installing from source:

Make sure you read all files named README, INSTALL, etc after unpacking.
