I'm having problem setting the maximum logins per user in RH 7.2
I added this to /etc/security/limits.conf
@group - maxlogins 1 (where group is the groupname I wish to limit its members to only one login per user) users in the group cant still login many times with the same username. setting the value to 0 prevents the group user from loging in. I tried using the username instead of the group, same results. Thanks in advance |
This isn't really going to answer the question, I know... but why are you using Redhat 7.2 in the first place?
That version of Redhat is... umm... seven years old now, and hasn't been updated in five or six years, I think. This means that the OS is insecure and if it is on the internet, it is probably compromised already. Please update to a more recent version of linux, whether that be CentOS, Ubuntu, or Fedora. |
re: I'm having problem setting the maximum logins per user in RH 7.2
upgrade is not a valid option, I have an application running that does support a newer version of the OS.
This server is not on the internet, security should be fine. |
