Human Weight loss interactive program?

Would someone like to write one? I think it should have customizable ingredients list, from which KJ evaluated meals can be constructed. It should have meal by meal KJ intake accounting, and intermittent screen popups to remind users to do necessary things throughout the day. It should track average KJ intake and weight loss to help users plan daily when to eat what, and it can have budgeting and shopping list add-ons. It can have some personal trainer actions. with a variety of voices to suit the users' preference. It could be sold as a mass marketed tool, at a budget price, and available to the mobile phone, PDA and internet communities. The market is huge, (pun intended) and the public value of it done well would help the spread of Linux. Someone please write it, cos I'm no programmer. NB I herewith make the idea public, and voluntarily forfeit all reward for it & ownership thereof.

I think the major question I would have to ask if why would you write a program like this to begin with? When the option of writing a web application that would be cross platform would likely be easier to implement and give people the ability to check from multiple locations (I.E. on a mobile phone, at work and at home). When considered as such I would suggest such an application would be of less value then a system written in say PHP, ASP or Perl with a back-end database. To answer the question, I believe such a thing could be written, I just think there are much better alternatives if somebody was seriously interested in written such a system to begin with.

Also I don't think the idea of having a nagging system would essentially work to begin with, people tend to turn off things that may bother them while they are doing something important thus that part of the functionality I would say is redundant from that point of view.

The solution to weight loss is ... .. . to eat less, and make some sort of effort to waddle about a bit more.

You don't need a computer program to tell anyone this, because they'll probably ignore it anyway.
