Huh? -- logrotate ignoring because of ~ ending

Hey out there:

Forgive me if this is an obvious problem, but I can't figure it out from the man pages and searching the Web. I get a daily email:

error: Ignoring snort~, because of ~ ending

I did have Snort installed, but I've removed every trace of it I can find. I want to stop this error, but I just don't know how.

Any help would be appreciated ... Thanks in advance.

rm `locate snort~`

Some distro's turn off displaying of
backup-files in ls or graphical file managers.
