http to https automatically

We installed apache 2.0.63 on red hat 4.2.we would like to use as a proxy server.And also we installed TEST self signed to redirect all the http to https permanently.

Look into mod_rewrite for apache, that should do it.

This is what is use for the rewrite on my server for all webmail to redirect to https, just edit it to suit your needs.

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^/webmail(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}/webmail$1 [L,R]
