i'm not sure what happend or what i've done.. but all of a sudden i can't use mozilla no more!


services httpd start: returns
staring http: can't could not determine the servers fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1

where should i first look to troubleshoot this?

the NICS settings look fine, thou i dont think it has to do anything with the NICs or the settings inside which i've not touched..

ok , first off do you own a domain name such as www.blablabla.com? if so you may just have to reconfigure httpd,doing that is pretty straight forward. If not, and you still want to run httpd, check into a redirect service like dyndns( www.dyndns.org) and set up an account <------its free for 5 domain names. and download and install one of the update clients they offer, this will keep your domain name the same if you should change your ip address( like say you have a dynamic ip) IF you use pppoe use the ip of the PPPOE connection in the ip adress feild of the setup utility. then use whatever you picked as a domain name for the domain part and your set. I have run many a website this way on linux and windows and the proceedure is pretty much the same.

httpd is in no way related to the operation of mozilla.

If Mozilla won't start it has nothing (VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY unlikey) to have anyting to do with httpd. httpd is only used for serving wepages (your own site)

The question is:
Do you have a problem setting up your own website on YOUR PC? Or can you no longer browse the web?

it is not related to mozilla. not too sure what was causing mozilla to not even request or browse to any websites

There is no problem. It is not really an error - just a warning. Don't worry about it.

You can stop it by setting the ServerName directive in:
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
