hpdeskjet 610c

I have installed Suse 10. After the installation I have connected a HP Deskjet 610C printer. With Yast I tried to connect the printer but the printer does not respons. I changed the file /etc/modprobe.conf and activated
"options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=none,none".
The printer does nothing.
Please help.

Have you loaded a driver for the printer and configured it?

According to your printer is supported. Here is the link. When you get there note the driver.

I have an HP610C that runs fine from CUPS. Sorry, but can't get to server at present to check config, but as I recall, there is plenty of info if you google for it
