help please
I have just bought the above laptop it has win10 on working ok but I like Linux Mint a lot better hence trying to dual boot.
I have followed all the advice about dual boot ie disable secure boot etc and shrunk the c drive.
Installing is the problem, using a USB live drive of LM 19.1 cinnom, booting the USB the grub appears but when I choose the Linux Mint option the screen goes blank.
I am relatively new to Linux- any ideas

Hi& Welcome to Linux Questions-

What application did you use to make your usb stick of Mint 19 bootable?

In order to get the usb to boot into Mint you have to go into the BIOS boot order and make the usb stick the first boot device.
Save the changes and than reboot. It should than boot into the Mint os giving you the option to perform a fresh installation.
