HowTo Start XP SafeMode with Grub
Hi I Mainly use Linux but needed to add Windows XP to my Grub Menu.List & am Just wondering if its possible to get SafeMode On Windows XP to Start at Boot as I needed to Make some changes in Windows After messing up some files.
The tutorial I followed didnt seem to say anything about it etc that I could see. |
assuming you are referring to the chainloader menu, what happens when it jumps to ms and you press F8? or whatever your system allows

Hi ,Thanks for reply, I had tried the options Like F8 etc but nothing happens, I have SlackWare first on List which is the original grub & added FreeBSD & Widows Last on list.
I was just wondering if there should be anything to add to Grub so it would boot SafeMode.? |
As soon as I can get back to using Slackware I can give my Grub Details. But they dont seem any different to most grub setups, Maybe its because of Slackwares way of doing grub or Lilo.

You can add a Safe Mode boot option by editing Windows boot.ini file, instructions here:
http://www.theeldergeek.com/add_safe..._boot_menu.htm I use lilo, getting the boot options "Windows" and "Linux", choosing Windows I then get "XP Pro", "Safe Mode", and "Recovery Console" options (handy if you're changing distros). Recovery Console install: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654 ---------------------------------------------------------- 666th post - very appropriate, since it's about W****ws. |
it is impossible .you shold know you cant add safemode to grub.
I think some trouble happened on your windows . virus have destroyed you safemode. you can not get in it . |
