I just wanted to post this out to all the newer people to Linux, like myself. I made this mistake and spent hours trobleshooting something that wasn't related to code, scripts or software.

LINUX IS CASE-SENSITIVE!

This means if you have html, inline css or whatever on your Linux webserver which references image01.jpg, but the actual file is called image01.JPG or Image01.jpg, or anything other than exactly what is referenced - your website will be broken. This goes for directories, like javascripts / images and Javascripts / Images - 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS!

Be careful out there, and be sure to adhere to this rule!

Always a good reminder, particularly for samba shared drives accessed by Windows, the OS and (some) Windows programs can have different behaviour..

A good rule of thumb I follow is, not matter what I am working on I am case-sensitive. Even if it does not apply. I try to make it a natural habit to be case-sensitive as it is such a big deal in several environments.

Unfortunately some modern Windows programs still are DOS at heart and only read and save their files in all caps 8.3 style (hard to believe), while of course the norm in linux is lowercase...
