rpm -Uvh <package-name.rpm> Upgrades an existing package

rpm -ivh <package-name.rpm> Installs a new package.

"man rpm" will give you all the options available, like rpm database queries and stuff...

I always use rpm -Uvh <package> b/c if you have an old package it will upgrade it and if you have a new package it will install it normally

Older versions of Redhat (up to 7.3) had GnoRPM, a graphical frontend to rpm.

It's not developed anymore, so you won't find it in later Redhat releases.

Just enter
and if you have it it will start up.
