HowTo add dosbox to Nautilus' menu
Hello,
Since we are talking about menus and panels here I thought I ask this question. How do I install an application that would show in a drop down menu? I am using a Debian netinstall with a Nautilus desktop. I used Synaptic packet manager to install dosbox to my system, I need to know how to add it to a menu. Like: Applications -> Accessories -> DosBox Another question, after install Dosbox it seemed to just disappear and I don't know how to find it in my system, the only way I know how to use Dosbox is in the Terminal by typing dosbox. So how do I find something that was installed? |
Right-click on "Applications" and select Edit menus.
As for dosbox, you can try something like whereis dosbox or which dosbox. |

Thanks,
I now know how to find out about an application that was installed. I am still trying to figure out how to add it to the drop down menu. I tried to follow jay73 instruction but, there is no link for dosbox in the menu edit. Is there any other way to add it in a drop down menu? |
Sure, you have to add it yourself by selecting the "add new item" button. Give it a name (that should be easy enough), the command to launch the application and optionally a description of what it does. You can also add an icon - in case you wonder, most icons are stored in /usr/share/pixmaps.

Got it,
Thank you jay73 |
