how would you find the vendor assigned amc address
 
how would you find the vendor assigned mac address ( i have changed
my mac address and want to go back to my assigned one (i didn't note it down))

If your on that machine locally and its a NIC your speaking of.. ifconfig will tell you this information.

If your on a network use the arp command followed by the IP or host to find the MAC address of the NIC, etc.

i am sorry if i am not very much explitic and i beg you apologies for that.
what i want to ask is that how would i know the mac address of the NIC assigned by the
vendor as i have changed it and ifconfig displays the changed mac address

Well then, unconfigure it, remove it possibly, remove all your configurations files for it and then reinstall it.
