How to write ntfs mount?

HI all:
How I can write on the ntfs mount, I installed a ntfs package for my fedora2
,but is read-only.

Thanks!

You can't

You can!

Download captive-ntfs and mount it as that and you will have write permissions.

there is also a (limited) support for write-permissions on ntfs in the 2.6-kernel. But that is limited, you can only replace files with the exact size, iirc.

But try out captive, I use it on my disk and it works fine. :)

Oh yes I tried captive-ntfs, it annihilated my NTFS partition, for better or worse.

That's strange. I tried it and the only problem was that I needed to get two sys-files from an XP-box but after I had done that it all worked without any problems.

Deffinatly dont recommend NTFS write support, or at least full write support. I am using 2.6.9-rc4 and there is new write support in that. But as mentioned above it cannot include anything which changes the file size. Using full write support in linux is likely to cause your NTFS drive to go wacko (technical term)

If you want full write support to a windows drive from linux then use FAT32 or simmilar.
